The Birthälm Altar is a late Gothic winged altarpiece in the fortified church of Birthälm (Romanian Biertan) in Sibiu County, Romania. The altar is an important work of art of the late Gothic period in Transylvania.
In its open state, the festival side shows 18 painted panels with depictions from the life of Mary, as well as a crucifixion scene in the central shrine. The (closed) weekday side features another 10 painted panels. The paintings likely originate from four different masters from the 15th and 16th centuries.
