In the southeast, there is a bastion with the so-called “divorce house”, Închisoarea Matrimonială, which served for the reconciliation of quarreling married couples by holding the spouses in a confined space until a decision was made about their relationship. The marriage prison represents a room in the prison tower. This room contained a bed, a chair, and a spoon. Spouses who wanted to divorce for various reasons were locked up here for a week until they gave up the idea of divorce.
