The Gare-d'Eau is a sector of Besançon city center that was once a port for goods and later for entertainment. Today it consists of the gardens of the Gare-d'Eau, a large green space along the Doubs, although the basin that served as a nautical stop still exists. By extension, the Bisontines also refer to the Avenue de la Gare-d'Eau and generally the northeastern quays up to the Rivotte sector as part of this sector.

The "Parc de la Gare d'Eau" offers visitors an attractive setting between green spaces and water areas. Protected by the ramparts and overlooked by the citadel, the promenade combines calm and beautiful landscapes.Redesigned in the 1970s, the Parc de la Gare d'Eau, which extends along the banks of the Doubs, almost disappeared between the buildings of Vauban and the projects for the administrative city.Thankfully, it was saved and today invites you to stroll and hosts cultural events, including the Mots Doubs and the Doubs Eté. There is also a guinguette here, which offers drinks and food, and a space where concerts are occasionally held.
