Anton Günther, also known as Tholer-Hans-Tonl, (* 5.6.1876 in Gottesgab, Bohemia; † 29.4.1937 in the same place) was a German folk poet, singer and composer of folk and dialect songs in the Ore Mountains.
His most famous works include Drham is’ drham (1895), Da Uf’nbank (1899), Feieromd (1903), Bleib’n mr noch a weng do (also 1903), Wu da Wälder hamlich rausch’n (1905) and O selicha Weihnachtszeit (1907). Günther is also considered the inventor of the song postcard.
