It is thanks to the Bavarian King Ludwig I that, alongside the neighboring Bad Kissingen, the Brückenau state spa also flourished as a health resort. That's why there are many things here that remind us of the monarch, including the monument standing in front of the Kursaal building. The Kursaal building itself was built between 1827 and 1833 in the classicist style. To this day it is used for dance events, galas, balls, concerts, theater performances and lectures.

10/2021 After difficult times for the spa resort of Bad Brückenau due to the French Revolutionary Wars, the area fell to Bavaria in 1816. In 1818, King Ludwig I discovered his love for the bath and the heyday of the facility began. The ruler is said to have stayed there a total of 26 times between 1818 and 1826. His monument, as shown in the photo, now stands in front of the Kursaal opposite the Dorint Hotel.
