Hiking

In Freudenstein, small, hidden, historical paths have been made accessible again. One of these paths is the Schafstaffel, which winds its way between the houses and reveals idyllic views of picturesque corners. The Schafstaffel is located between Maulbronner Strasse and the Galluskirche. It runs a short distance along a small stream. Very idyllic, in any season.

Hiking

The name „Schafstaffel“ dates back to centuries of agricultural use. Over this narrow, steep path, the region's shepherds drove their flocks from the pastures in the Weissach Valley up to the higher-lying open spaces or stables. In addition to driving livestock, the Staffel served the inhabitants of Freudenstein as a direct, traffic-free footpath for generations.
