From the Tiber up the castle walls you go up the Aventine Hill via a long staircase. Once at the top you reach a plateau where a medieval fortress once stood. There is nothing left of it but a viewpoint. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Tiber, which extends to St. Peter's Basilica.
