Cycling

This bronze figure, which is also known as the bookseller, was set up in 1984 in the Alte Rathausstrasse opposite the Osberghaus bookshop. After the pedestrian zone had been designed, this area was converted. The figure goes back to an initiative of Ulrich Osberghaus and his family, who also donated the sculpture. The annual edition of the Kunstverein Düsseldorf from 1982 served as a template. This work of art was intended to awaken the idea of books and trade. The installation was actively supported by the mayor at the time, Hubert Sülzer, as the corresponding competence difficulties arose.
