Whether you are from Vicenza or traveling, a scholar or simply curious: pass through the portal of Ca' d'Oro and travel through time and history!
In the oldest heart of Vicenza, along the centuries-old Via Postumia, stands a unique building with an enchanting name: the Ca' d'Oro, the golden house. The origin of the name could stem from its similarity to the Venetian palaces or from the frescoes and gold leaf decorations on the facade. But nothing will stop you from letting your imagination run wild to an even more mysterious and magical origin as you cross the beautiful portal or rest in the shade of the ancient wisteria.

It is one of the most famous buildings of Corso Palladio: it was built in the fourteenth century for the Caldogno, while the future owner Dal Toso completed it in 1477 and then expanded it at the end of the century. It owes the name by which it is best known, Ca d’oro, to the strong references to fourteenth-century Venetian architecture and the capitals and frames once painted in gold.
The palace develops around a square courtyard in which stone material from the collection of Giovanni da Schio (1798-1868) has been preserved
