Zaltbommel has a rich water history. The port has played an important role in the past, including for the transhipment of sand and gravel. In addition, many beautiful ships were built from the shipyard with a longitudinal slipway between 1882 and 1992.

The port of Zaltbommel (Gelderland province) is centrally located in the Netherlands on the busy Waal river. It is therefore an ideal stopping point for yachts looking for a safe and quiet mooring for the night or longer. You are located right in the center of the historic fortress with all facilities, shops and restaurants within easy reach. Moreover, the area has plenty to offer and there are beautiful cycling trips.

Facilities have been constructed for commercial shipping and large passenger ships.

Since 2020, ships up to 110 m in length and 2,500 tons can moor at 9 (new) mooring posts.

The management of the port and professional quay is in the hands of Water Sports Association De Golfbreker.
