Long-established bridge that connects the municipality of Fornovo di Taro with the Ramiola hamlet of the municipality of Medesano.
History:
On November 8, 1982, 42 years ago, this bridge collapsed in the Parma area.
In addition to this, 20 km further downstream, the bridge that connected Bologna-Rome to Milan by rail, that of Pontetaro, also gave way.
Was the Taro River causing the collapse, the reason? a flood that statistically occurs approximately every 150 years.
There was also significant damage upstream from Fornovo, but for these two disasters it all started in Fornovo where, as chance would have it, the three floods arrived almost simultaneously: from the Taro river, from the Ceno river and from the Sporzana torrent.
