On the Arenas Negras round you have a wonderful view of the north side of Teide and Pico Viejo from the Garachico volcano. You can even see La Fortaleza on the left and all the younger volcanic cones of the last centuries to the right. Sunny resting place with a beautiful view of the water canal itself.

You can discover what will become of volcanic land here. Open eyes. And gigantic prospects.

Anyone who has a vehicle with some ground clearance or does not shy away from one or the other attachments can drive up the forest path to the Arenas Negras car park. From here you are in a few steps at the foot of the mountain. The nature is beautiful here. Great colors - blue sky, black mountain, bright green pine and occasionally colorful plants.

However, one should not underestimate the climate. We started in the sun and then were caught on the way through the ash fields above the mountain from a fog front. Visibility 5 meters, soaking wet and no orientation anymore (see photo). Only thanks to Komoot and GPS we could feel our way along the way.

It should also be noted that the area east of the mountain serves as a training ground for hounds at weekends (signposted accordingly). You hear the packers yapping in the woods. Whether you want to use the paths in this area under these circumstances, everyone must decide for themselves. That was too much for us.
