The building located at Thierschstraße 11-17 was the headquarters of the Eher-Verlag publishing company and bookstore, founded in 1887. In December 1920, it was acquired by the NSDAP and became their central publishing company. It published Hitler's Mein Kampf (released in 1925) which he began writing while in prison for the Beer Hall Putsch. By the 1940s, Eher Verlag was one of the largest newspaper chains in the world. It was shut down by the occupying forces on 29 October 1945.
