Here is a good place to enter the Barranco de Arucas. The path through the Barranco is quiet, shady, and partly "jungle-like" through reeds, cacti, etc., until just before the Presa de Vasco Lopez dam. There you can either go up the path and, for example, hike back over the Presas del Pinto dams or take the easy/quick route back through the Barranco to the city.
