A massive bench to relax on. The “Red Water” flows past below.

The headwaters of the Red Water are located in the east of the municipality of Wetter in the middle of the castle forest. This is where the wet meadows and moor area “Franzosenwiesen und Rotes Wasser” is located, a protected area according to the European Flora-Fauna-Habitat Directive (FFH Directive), from which the Red Water is fed. On the way through the Burgwald, the Red Water enters the Rauschenberg municipality and then into the Cölbe municipality. The Red Water passes through the towns of Bracht, Schönstadt and Bürgeln. West of Bürgeln the stream flows into the Ohm. The FFH area extends for several kilometers along the stream until just before the town of Schönstadt.
The red water belongs to the flowing water type of fine material-rich, siliceous low mountain streams.
