It is located near the Algar River on a river terrace on the right bank and dominates the riverbed. Currently, access is via the path that runs along the right bank. The surrounding landscape consists of terraced orchards where fruit and vegetables are grown with high profitability, located very close to the so-called Algoletjes on the banks of the Algar.
