The tax office is in here today and the poor taxpayer in front of it.

In the east of Quakenbrück lies the stately administrative building of the former Royal Prussian District Court.
After a Prussian decree on the establishment of district courts in 1878,
numerous buildings were built for this purpose throughout Prussian territories,
including in Quakenbrück after 1880.
The representative and listed building stands out vehemently from the rest of the buildings in the old town with its appearance. The massive construction that has been in place in Quakenbrück since the 19th century is increased in volume and volume in this building so that the building has a fortress-like character.
In the greatest heyday of the historicist architectural styles of the Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque, it is not surprising that the administrative building takes up parts of these stylistic elements, especially on the facade. Neo-Baroque design was often used in state buildings in reminiscence of absolutism. A building worth seeing, which is now used as a tax office.denkmalatlas.niedersachsen.de/viewer/metadata/46718995/1/-
