The area, consisting of stream valley meadows and forest cover, is located around 3 km southeast of the Iggelheim settlement area on the Speyerbach alluvial cone.
It is divided into two non-contiguous areas,
the 10.6 hectare Kandelwiese in the northeast and
the 23.9 hectare Böhler Bruch in the southwest.
