The "Death's Head" is the actual namesake of the entire forest section. Depending on the location and lighting conditions, the rounded indentations (druid bowls) on the large, flat stone slab resemble the eye sockets of a skull or the imprints of a buttocks, which is why the rock is also known locally as the "Giant's Seat." It lies at an elevation of 740 meters and is a natural monument.
