Cycling
Idyllic, mostly flat, well-used cycle path from Dunedin to the Otago Peninsula. It's always along the water, there are lots of toilets, small beaches, and places to stop for refreshments in Portobello and Macandrew Bay. From Portobello you can also cycle to the end of the peninsula, but there is only a partial cycle path here. However, the street is not very busy because it is a dead end. At the end is the Royal Albatros Center (highly recommended).
