Against plans to build a biogas plant on the Bullenberg, around 60 citizens have now come together under the chairmanship of Hartmut Tiedemann to form an association called "De Bullenbargers". Their goal: the site is to be renatured and, like the buildings, used for cultural and charitable purposes. An exhibition "The Bullenberg earlier yesterday this morning" is also planned. That was also implemented

"Back to nature" is the name of the usage concept for the Nindorf Bullenberg. The former military site on the 56 meter high hill has served as anti-aircraft defense (FlaRak) for 30 years.

Back then, during the heyday of the Cold War, the Bundeswehr was looking for areas for missile defense positions and found what it was looking for in the Lamstedt district of Nindorf, among other places. Because the Bullenberg with its hill was ideally located for the missile defense and the associated radar early warning system. In 1971 the German Armed Forces finally moved into the "roof of the Börde". For more than 30 years, the area was then a military security area and entry was prohibited.

In July 2002 the position was finally dissolved. The municipality of Lamstedt became the owner of the area and is now working with the “De Bullenbargers” association to ensure that gentle tourism is introduced here. Part of the approximately 11.5 hectare site has been renatured and a good five hectares are open to the public for tourist use. Two viewing platforms and a barbecue hut have been created and the “De Bullenbargers” association is allowed to use the area for events such as an annual summer festival.

A former missile station has been converted into a lookout point. Parking spaces for cars are available. Short way to two huts. Bring a picnic! And then enjoy the grandiose view of the Oste valley. Binoculars would be good. The best lighting conditions are in the afternoon, when the sun is behind you.
