In 1928, Yang Yongshou, a Muslim from Huaiyin, Jiangsu Province, built the upstairs of his home at No. 20 Yixing Lane, Tongzhou Road, as a worship hall. After the Songhu Battle broke out in 1937, Muslims from northern Jiangsu in Shanghai left Shanghai and returned to their hometowns to seek refuge, and worship in the prayer hall was suspended. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Muslims from Northern Jiangsu returned to Shanghai and successively opened places of worship on Yangshupu Road, Baoding Road and other places, and named them Northern Jiangsu Mosque. In 1953 and 1956, Muslims bought four bungalows on Jingxing Road to build mosques. In July 1959, the mosque merged with the Fenzhou Road Mosque and was renamed Hudong Mosque. In 1985, the temple was renovated and renamed Jingxing Road Mosque again. On March 7, 2003, the Yangpu District Government planned to relocate the Jingxing Road Mosque and rebuild it. On June 22, 2010, the reconstructed Jiangwan Mosque on was completed.
