I enjoyed reading about the history of William Henry Bell. It was very inspiring, especially at that time, to be able to buy 300 hectares of land. Beautiful property and inspiring story.

On the lookout at Cole Bay Hill, next to a tall flagpole, there is a statue of the seated Mr. William Henry Bell II, better known as "Willy the 7th", Willy the seventh child in the family. In 1949 he bought the Cape Bay Estate with his brothers and a cousin and died of an illness just a year later at the young age of 33. Today he is commemorated by a statue erected in his honor since his heirs allowed the government to erect the large flagpole there.
