San Paragorio is an important monument of Romanesque architecture in Liguria. The patron of the church is Saint Pargorius. The current church was built in the Romanesque style in the 11th century.

Archaeological excavations have revealed the remains of an early Christian baptistery and a late antique necropolis. Later excavations also revealed the remains of a craftsmen's settlement and the early church buildings (6th century).
