The beach chosen by local people, as well as one of the most iconic in Slovenian Istria. Plaza Svetilnik offers a beautiful view of Punta Grossa, Koper, Trieste and the Moon Bay of Strunjan. Part of the area is covered with large patches of grass, while access to the water is facilitated by small pebbles. This beach is mainly preferred by families with children who can have fun in the playground, take shelter in the shade of the pine trees or use the nearby Svetilnik restaurant or the Vitaminček bar.

During the hot months of July and August, an open-air library is also available on the beach.

You can reach Plaza Svetilnik by taking the seafront from the center of Izola or from the former shipyard.
