The Junker House
Eberhard Im Thurn resided here.
The imposing half-timbered house in the middle of the village was once the seat of the Büsinger Vogtsherren. From 1535 to 1854, the noble Im Thurn family from Schaffhausen had Büsingen as a fiefdom from Austria. At the end of the 17th century, family member Eberhard Im Thurn held office there.
His kidnapping, which took place in front of this house on April 10, 1693, was a significant historical event for our community. This event ultimately prevented Büsingen from being integrated into Switzerland and thus led to today's en/exclave situation
