Hiking

The Rectory was built by the Abbey of Averbode in 1726. The Abbey was the donor and main tithe raiser of the Sint-Trudo Church and the pastors were always clergymen of Averbode. The building in Maasland style was originally located on a moated plot north of the Itter. Between 1777 and the middle of the 19th century, the Itter was diverted and has since flowed north of the parsonage, causing the moat to disappear and the facade of the parsonage to be located on a small, walled courtyard on Tongerlostraat. The building is currently being restored.
