The rectangular brick building rises above a fieldstone base and is topped with a hipped roof. On the west side, a square tower, covered with a copper roof, rises, which also houses the church's main entrance.
The spatial impression of the nave is dominated by the stained-glass window in the chancel, designed in 1967 by the painter Dehmel.
It depicts the church's patron saint, St. James.
