The Shanghai Club, the building that is now the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, opened in 1911. It was famous for its long bar, stretching about 35m in depth from the riverfront windows into the building.
It has dark wooden paneling and a nice selection of drinks to choose from. Not the cheapest bar around, but worth enjoying some of the 1920s and 30s atmosphere with a drink before going to dinner.
Note: the bar only opens at 5pm.
