In gratitude for a favor received, mayor Remi De Vulder and his two sisters had this chapel built on their property. The chapel, which dates from 1863, is a faithful mini(!) copy of the Basilica of Lourdes. Typical of Lourdes chapels is the underlying imitation rock structure, in which the appearance of Mary is evoked.

Inside that cave, you will also find images of the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

Since 1996 it has been a protected monument. It was completely restored in 2009.
