Ciyun Temple was built around 1270 (during the Song Dynasty) and rebuilt around 1440. It has seen additions and expansions over time and has been visited by scholars, high ranking monks and literati.
It has feel into despair during the Cultural Revolution but has been recently restored. A key landmark of the temple is the pagoda.

It has seen destruction, rebuilds, expansions and additions over the centuries. Also many scholars and literati have been at Ciyun Temple.
