The changing gardens and the Expo - Park - Süd are two modern parks from the time of the Expo 2000. The landscape architect Kamel Louafi designed the “changing gardens” with the play of colors, shapes, plant and building structures. According to the Heraclitus motto "Everything flows", the character of the gardens changes in their course from north to south: In the north, dark colors and geometrically arranged shapes predominate, the further south you go, the lighter the colors and the more flowing the forms. The "Gardens in Transition" are indeed changing, but not for the better! Sandwiched between Ikea and the old EXPO pavilions, some of which are falling into disrepair as lost places, you walk through a barely maintained park that simply looks unattractive and dirty. The few buildings there are dirty and sprayed.
