Baha-ud-Din Naqshband Bukhari was the namesake of the Naqshbandiya order, one of the largest and most influential Muslim Sufi orders.

The city of Bukhara owes its status as a center of Islamic learning and religiosity throughout Central Asia primarily to the work of Baha-ud-Din.

His grave was expanded into a mausoleum, which is now considered one of Uzbekistan's national monuments and an important pilgrimage site. In addition to the tomb of Baha-ud-Din, it houses a cemetery where many Naqshbandi Sufis were buried, as well as a Sufi study center.
