The Toqi Telpak Furushon was built at the end of the 16th century. Originally books were offered there, which is why the bazaar was also called Toqi Kitob (Uzbek kitob = book). Gradually, the book stands were replaced by the hat sellers' workshops and shops. Turbans, fur mats and small caps embroidered with gold and silk threads or glass beads were made there and offered for sale. Even if these goods are still there, carpets, jewelery, knives, musical instruments and other souvenirs are now mainly offered.
