Description of the landscape where the battle takes place: Anloy is located in a clearing and is surrounded by extensive forests to the west and south. The Lesse flows north and east. The territory of Anloy is hilly and consists, in addition to forests, of fenced meadows, hills, hedges, groups of trees and streams. On August 22, 1914, Anloy was the scene of the Battle of the Borders. The surrounding villages, Massin, Bertix, Ochamps and Porcheresse, have the same fate.
