    The Shanghai Rowing Club has been around for a while before building this clubhouse on a patch of land rented from the former British Consulate and Union Church. The clubhouse was built in 1903 and completed in 1904. The clubhouse also had a boathouse (torn down in 1989) and swimming bath, both no longer exist.
    The building was already marked for demolition, when it was decided to keep and restore it as part of the revival of The Bund area.
    Today it houses a bar.
