Ascent to Montserrat from Monistrol de Montserrat

Classic climb that every cyclist should do at least once... a year! 10 km of curves to reach the Monastery of Montserrat. Count the last 3 km, there are usually queues to enter the car park, and also people walking, better to go up early. Enjoy the views of the Llobregat Valley, and hopefully the sea of clouds.

This is one of Catalonia's classic climbs, used by both the Volta a Catalunya and the Vuelta a España. It's a very well-paved road, wide (except for a section at the beginning of the climb), and has a couple of difficult sections: at the beginning and at the end.
The climb ends at the end of the car and coach parking lot before reaching the Monastery. The parking area, which is completely crossed, is a difficult section where you have to be careful due to the heavy traffic and the fact that cars do not cater to cyclists.
Halfway up the climb, there is a legendary fountain called "Font dels Monjos," just before reaching the Monastery of Sant Benet.
