The monastery of Santa María de Montserrat (in Catalan, Monestir de Santa Maria de Montserrat) is a Benedictine abbey located on the mountain of Montserrat, belonging to the Bages region, province of Barcelona, Spain. At a height of 720 meters above sea level. Administratively it belongs to the municipality of Monistrol de Montserrat, although some of its adjoining lands fall within the term of Collbató. It is a symbol for Catalonia and Spain. It has become a pilgrimage point for believers and a must for tourists.

MONASTERY Montserrat - Entrance Museum: 8 €, Entrance Visual show about monastic life "Espai Audiovisual" 5.50 €, Combined ticket: 10 €. Cathedral visit free. Way up: car (parking fee at least €6.50 - a few people available) cog railway or cable car - return ticket €11.50 each or on foot. Tours from Barcelona can be booked with public transport. 1 p.m. Singing of the boys' choir in the church - free of charge, a black Madonna is worshiped.
