The two monuments “First World War” and “To the Victims 1939-1945” located on the village square belong to the monument ensemble in Kienitz, along with the tank monument and the bridgehead stele.

The monument ensemble is looked after by the members of the Kienitz local association for Heimat und Landschaft e.V. Their legacy is to keep alive the memory and remembrance of the fallen and the suffering of the civilian population. Already after the First World War 1914-1918, many fathers and sons no longer returned to their villages on the Oder. A historical bronze plaque commemorates them: "The communities of Kienitz died heroic deaths for their fatherland from 1914 to 1918" with a list of names.

The monument to the victims of the Second World War was built at the suggestion of Kienitz citizen K. Fürstenberg based on a design by Roland Rother from field stones and a steel plaque in the shape of a cross. The inscription “To the Victims 1939 - 1945” was embedded on a steel plaque. Most of the stones were collected and donated by citizens from Kienitz and the surrounding area. The inauguration took place on September 17, 1999 in the presence of numerous guests.
