The Johannesbrücke, the middle of the three bridges on Obertorstrasse in Monreal, was built around 1500 as a two-arched ashlar bridge over the Elzbach stream.
From here, there is a magnificent view of the half-timbered houses from the 15th to 18th centuries, the Elzbach stream, and the Löwenburg and Philippsburg castles.
The bridge is adorned with four lion statues from around 1831, a stone Nepomuk sculpture from 1803, and a wooden wayside cross with a sculpture of Jesus from the 16th century.
Saint Nepomuk protects the bridge, raftsmen, and millers.

A great view of the old half-timbered houses in the town centre.
