Mythical marina of Saint-Martin Ré (17410)

On the north coast of the island, opening onto the Pertuis Breton,

the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré has existed since the Middle Ages.

It is around it that the urban core of the island was created: its commercial and strategic position made Saint-Martin-de-Ré the historic economic capital of the Rhine region very early on.

Doubly protected, by the ramparts and by a dike,

the port of Saint-Martin charms today with its authentic setting, its human scale and its accessibility.

Consisting of a beaching harbor and a water basin protected by a lock,

Today it can accommodate 220 places, including several dozen reserved for visitors and passing boaters, in the water basin and at the quay.

The seasonal pontoon installed along the Grand Môle makes it possible to meet summer demand.

A place for a timeless stroll

Lined with cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlors and their lively terraces,

the port of Saint-Martin is located in the heart of the historic village.

From its quays start the alleys flowered with hollyhocks in which it is pleasant to stroll, and which house a variety of fashion boutiques,

    regional delicacies and souvenirs.

A privileged starting point for visits to the heart of the city, the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré offers in itself a setting conducive to walks:

along the Quai Job Foran, the Quai de la Poithevinière, the Quai Georges Clemenceau, to the lighthouse and to the sea wall.

The originality of the site lies in the circular structure of the water basin, which offers a small urban island in its center:

it is home to renowned restaurants, some boutiques and art galleries.
