The Karben Peace Forest made of 570 hornbeams was inaugurated in 2019 in memory of the 570 Karben citizens who died during or as a result of the Second World War. These are citizens of the Jewish faith murdered in the Holocaust, civilian victims and also fallen soldiers. A central memorial plaque contains the names of all victims.
From the memorial plate, dead-end paths radiate out to information boards on which individual fates are presented. Additional boards supplement the information offering.
The memorial is expected to be expanded in the next few years.
