The path from Rimbocci up to the Sacred Mountain La Verna is quite strenuous because you have to overcome a large difference in altitude (a good 600m) in just a few kilometers. After Biforco, in the low part of the town of Rimbocchi, go down the paved road that leads to Beccia (Chiusi della Verna), the old path to get to La Verna. You can easily recognize the beginning of path 53, which is indicated by a sign, because it is almost exactly (50m) in front of the street from which you come. The path is rocky at the beginning with some strenuous passages, so start the stage calmly. The so-called donkey path always offers fantastic views over the landscape and to the Rimbocci starting point.
