Powder Tower (Prašná brána)
One of the most striking sights of late-Gothic Prague, dating from 1475, is a monumental gateway to the Old Town through which the coronation processions of Czech kings entered the city. The Powder Tower, which once served as a storehouse for gunpowder, still marks the coronation or royal route to Prague Castle.
The observation walkway is 44 meters high.prague.eu/de/objekt/orte/102/pulverturm-prasna-brana

The Powder Tower was built in the 15th century as a decorative border to the east of Prague's Old Town. Former fortifications at this point were no longer necessary to protect the city and had fallen into disrepair. The "New Tower" was planned as part of the royal court, where the community center [komoot.de/highlight/875446] stands today. After the royal court was moved to the castle hill, the construction of the tower was stopped and adjusted. In the 17th century the tower was used as a powder magazine and received its current name.More info: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prager_Pulverturm

The Prague Powder Tower (Czech: Prašná brána) is a 65 meter high gate tower on Republic Square in Prague. It was built as part of the fortifications of the former royal court in the 15th century. It represents a decorative work of the late Gothic period in Bohemia and has a monumental, historically significant entrance gate to Prague's Old Town.
