Cycling

Moriago della Battaglia was first mentioned as Murliago in 1112. At Moriago, Italian troops managed to cross the Piave during the First World War on October 27, 1918 during the Battle of Vittorio Veneto. Since 1962 the community has been called della Battaglia.

Cycling

The presence of human settlements in the Moriago area is evidenced at least in the Bronze Age by the discovery of remains of terracotta ceramics. The current inhabited centers would have been formed in Roman times, which actually preserve traces of the structure of the village, defended by a fence surrounded by a road. The parish church dates from the 10th century during the Frankish rule. The current building was built in the 1920s and replaces the 18th century church that was destroyed in the First World War.

This is the bell tower of the Church of San Leonardo and the remains of the Da Camino Tower in Moriago della Battaglia. Da Camino Tower: Built in the 12th century, the tower was severely damaged by bombing during the First World War. (Wikipedia)
