    Hiking

Walk only on the eastern side of the bridge. It has the most iconic views anyway.
If riding a bike, go west. There are big fines for those who disobey these rules.
Observatory Hill at the bridge's southern end is worth a look and wander and the nearby Lord Nelson or Pallisades Hotel are good for a drink and the Pallisades has good views from the top.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was officially opened on March 19, 1932. The arch bridge is the main connection between Sydney's north and south shores across Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson). Locals also call it the "coat hanger". In 2007, on its 75th anniversary, the bridge was entered into the Australian National Heritage List as a national monument. The justification from the Australian heritage authority states that the bridge symbolically represents the development of modern Sydney and internationally the bright future of Australia.[1]

Besides the famous Sydney Opera House, this structure is usually mentioned as another landmark of Sydney.
