There is a lookout point with parking bays right on the street. There is a magnificent view towards the Valle de la Luna and a fabulous sunset view. The viewpoint is opposite the "Mirador de Kari - Piedra del Coyote" for free.

The Cordillera de la Sal is a mountain range in the pre-Andean depression near San Pedro de Atacama in northern Chile. It was formed by tectonic activity in the Salar de Atacama, during which layers of continental red sediments and white evaporites were folded and raised. Erosion by the water of the rare rainfall in this extremely hyperarid region has formed a bizarre-looking karst landscape with superficial salt efflorescence and salt caves over the last 4000 years. Due to sterile saline soils, bone-dry climate and intense sunlight, the mountain range is largely an absolute desert.
