In 2017, the old cattle pond was re-excavated and closed to the public to protect the recovering nature. Frogs, toads and salamanders soon find their way back to this place. Many insects and dragonflies also visit the water. Amphibians form an important link in the food chain. They eat numerous small invertebrates, and are in turn eaten by herons, which you sometimes see landing here.
Take your time and enjoy this special biotope.
