Hřebeny Station, formerly Hartenberg, was built in 1876 with a reception building and a loading siding. A freight shed was not built on the loading siding until 1902, and an additional station siding was put into operation the following year. These expansions were due to the castle brewery located there, with its abundant beer shipments, as well as the lace industry from nearby Gossengrün, now Krajkova.
After the war, on May 16, 1949, the station was downgraded to a stop with a loading area. With the start of the 1964/65 timetable, the stop became a baggage handling stop, and on December 27, 1970, the ticket office was also closed.
Today, only the empty and slowly decaying station building remains as a reminder of the former station complex. It is no longer in use. A lost place.
The railway line from Sokolov via Kraslice to Zwotental in Germany is a single-track regional line that runs along the Svatava River. Passenger traffic on the Czech line is operated by GW Train Regio. Trains of the Vogtlandbahn run from Germany. The regional line was one of the last lines built by the private company Buštěhradské dráhy. The concession was granted by Emperor Franz Joseph I on October 30, 1873. One of the main purposes of the line was to connect to the Saxon railways at the shared Klingenthal station. The line was initially used primarily for the export of coal from Falkenau and Czech musical instruments. After being closed as a result of World War II, the line was reactivated after the fall of the Iron Curtain. On October 28, 1994, the first passenger train in over 42 years ran from Kraslice to the German border. Continuous operation began in December 2000. Since July 10, 2003, RegioSprinter trains have been running from Zwickau to Sokolov.
