It all started in 1934, a few years after the Feuerkogel cable car was built, with the construction of a chapel. The chapel was dedicated to St. Christophorus, patron of sailors, pilgrims, travelers and drivers. Since the original chapel was destroyed during the war, the diocese of Linz built a new mountain church in 1968 and was commissioned by the then bishop Dr. Consecrated to Franz Zauner.

Behind the chapel you can watch the paragliding takeoffs. When the conditions are right, they take off just above the Christopherus Hut.

Himalayan feeling! The hosts are Nepalese and cook like them. It tasted great! A real alternative to the typical, standard fare.
